Default Hello Everybody

Hi there.. I am Rob, I live in San Antonio, TX..

I would love to say that I know my Acuras inside out because I have owned 2 and am now on my 3rd, But that would be a lie. I will start off by saying I love the Integra 90-93 models. Ls, Rs, Gs, or Gsr - any of those are what make me happy. I do not really dig on flashy body kits, big spoilers, or loud farty mufflers. But to each their own, I will not talk down on anyone because it is merely by preference.

I Have had a 90 LS, which was my frist which got me hooked. Beautiful black 5sp which sat on steelies, eibachs, and various strut towers and what not. It was taken from me by a big bad pink caddy.. My second was a 93 LS, red, again on eibachs, Stock LS rims, Struts, intake, headers, free from cat, Carbon fiber hood, Ignition, distributor, wires, and plugs. Also had a nice ACT clutch, and HID conversion. Unfortunatley I let her sit on the wrong road when my clutch went out, and she was stripped of all the goods, which also included leather interior, and a Cf dash.

I now own a 92 RS integra, stock completely, and auto trans. The only thing I have done to it is the fog light trick. It is a pretty nice car to be honest, very clean, well maintained, and nice inside. I have only had one conflict with it, and that was the battery - which by the place I bought it from, was dead, and they told me they would buy me a new one, which they "did" yet it also died.. So I bought my own, and have not had any trouble with is since.. Which has only been one day.

Now since I have not owned an auto before, I only have one question, and I have searched and have not found, But when I get in it and apply the brake, I hear a clicking sound underneath the shifter.. Does anyone have any idea what this could be, shoud I be worried, maybe I crossed my wiring ?..

Default Well Hell..

As far as I know, the shift lock is off.

Damnit.. I think it is the alternator draining my battery power, and I think the clicking is a result of the power loss, and indication that something is wrong..

I have just drained my THIRD F***IN BATTERY.. THIS WEEK !! - Ugh, So out comes the alternator today and off to auto zone to check it out..

Any other ideas of what could drain my power so badly ?..

I would have load tested the battery. If there isn't a load then I'd say your alternator is shot. How many miles on the car?

Default Frantic..

134xxx K..

OMG.. I am going to freak out.. Seriously.. Somehow I had it in my head that the alternator was easy to remove, but I was wrong.. that is the distributor I was thinking of.. DAMNIT.. I dont even know where to begin, and I am too pissed off right now to function properly.. I have searched, but maybe I am too angry to find the results.. I dont know.. I am god damn sure it is the alternator.. 3 batterys in one week..

I needs help.. all I have is a a set of rachetts(sp) and some screw drivers, and I need this done like yesterday !!.. I dont even know where to begin !!.. I am so mad, I feel like calling the place I bought it and demanding a refund !! - they lied to me, and said everything was replaced.. well obviously not.. the alternator looks OLD as SH**..

I'd take it out with the place you bought the car form. The alternator shouldn't be so bad to replace if you have all the basic hand tools and some 10, 12, 14 and 17mm sockets(long and short). I've never replaced the alternator on my car so I don't know what exactly needs to be done. If you're mechanically inclined then I think you'd be able to figure it out.
