I received my coilovers yesterday and installed the rear. I didn't get pics of the install though. The front goes on tonight.

:goodjob: Yeah you should be in good shape then, getting it in the rear is harder than in the front. :rick:

specially after going untouched for 12 years

Am I supposed to transfer the brake line brackets over to the new front struts?
I thought I would get one included in the kit.

edit: nevermind, I know I'm supposed to.

Another question, my current suspension that I just removed did not come with bump stops, therefore there are no bumpstops going on the new setup.I still haven't put it in, I just finished removing the old stuff. How will my ride be affected if I don't use bump stops?

Wow....Everyone is getting Koni Yellows/GC nowadays. h:

You must use bump stops if you want the shocks to last. Get some OEM bump stops, cut them in half and then you will be good to go. I would highly advise against not using bump stops.

Time to start a Koni/GC fan club.

Bump stops it is, I will pick some up tomorrow from a friend that has some old used ones. Install is now complete, I just need to go back out there and adjust the ride height. This is going to be awesome!

Ride height has been adjusted - 1" gap between tire and fender all the way around and firmness is set at 3/4 full firm front and rear. Test drive will be tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone that helped with this rewarding project.

How long are Konis or other aftermarket dampers like Teins supposed to last mileage-wise?

It probably varies depepnding on what kind of driving you do, but what is an average for someone with daily-spirited driving?

As long as you aren't running the shocks at full stiff all the time and your ride height isn't too low, they should last the rest of the life of the car. Koni does have a lifetime warranty, so they will replace a bad one.
