Default GSR IM or ITR/Skunk2 IM

Really now, why does nobody want to stick with the dual stage GSR manifold? Ive heard from very reliable sources that the DS flows MORE AIR!?!?! It seems possibe because having 8 runners over 4 would be a plus for air flow. Any thoughts? And yes I know theres still 4 actual runners connecting to the head. This is pre-head talk w/ no pun intended

The GSR has a dual stage IM so that it can have both better fuel economy when the longer intake runners are open and performance when the short runners are opened and the butterfly valves open up.

the dual stage and low vtec point helps maintain a broad powerband. by switching to a single runner manifold you shift the powerband up and make the engine peakier, taking away from the low and mid ranges.

when people start boosting or doing na builds they dont tend to focus on these parts of the powerband cause in most racing your not here for very long. they want to maximize the part of the powerband they will be in most of the time. also, by going to a bigger bore or more boost or any number of various engine setups you can effectively get some of that lost powerband back.

bigger bore as in throttle body? For me theres nothing better than the sound of a well-tuned NA engine. But, building the motor and still using the DS sounds good no?

If you want high rpm power, ditch the stock manifold. A skunk2/venom/JG manifold will be much better. The runners are bigger, flow more, and are shorter, so the air velocity is higher.

by bigger bore i mean more displacement. for a strung out NA build a single stage is the way to go.
