Default Coilovers

I'm going to get coilovers for my car in the spring and i was just wondering how low i could drop my 90 integra before i'd experience rub on 17's with 40 series rubber (which is what I plan on getting) . Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance

depends on your wheel offset too. in general 2.5" is about the max, but by then the camber and ride are already shot to hell

Thanks bro, but if I could only drop it about 2.5" why would they even bother selling coilovers that go to 4.5"??

For show. On my girlfriend's '00 Integra, the car is a daily driver and so is dropped 2" for that. But at shows it's dropped almost 5". The JT Autostyle front bumper is 1/2" off the ground, and the wheels are tucked. Can't drive it like that, but it looks good for shows.

4.5"?? Wow that's low...

I don't think most people care about max drop-height when in the market for coilovers; just the fact that they can drop it 1", 2", or 4.5" as you said. I don't think anyone would drop it 4.5" even for show, but it might be a good capability to have
