Do you still have the OEM GSR Intake Manifold? Or did you switch to skunk 2?

Maybe your throttle cable is loose?

It's the stock IM. I hope this isn't a timing issue or something.

Ok, now this is getting ridiculous. The car seems to be running ok once I get it going for a few minutes but starting it has been a bear. I have to push the gas all the way down and turn the ignition off and on like 10 times before it will even attempt to run. Once I get it started it just putts around and even when I floor the gas the revs stay the same at first. It seems like this all happens most often when it's colder outside.

well, it's been a couple weeks now and it seemed like the problem was fixed. i hadn't had any issues with the startup...until tonight. I replaced the radiator on friday and everything was fine. I even drove it earlier today and it was alright. But tonight, after the car sat for like 8 hours I try to start it up and I have the same crap happen. It putts around and sounds like it's not running on all cylinders or something. You really have to push the gas down to get moving too. What the hell is going on here? :a:

If you're still getting the code 6 thats what it is. I had it too. Really hard to start and when its started for the first 3-4 minutes its sluggish. I'd say let it warm up to operating temp until and then drive it. Don't sit there flooring it trying to get it to go, because thats not good. As Schmoo said, the ect sensor will mess with your ignition and fuel, so get the ect problem fixed and it will work fine.

I'm sure this has a lot to do with it. I guess I'll have to troubleshoot the ECT code some more. I don't even have vtec anymore. :wtc:

Yup thats sounds exactly right. Trust me it is your ect, not the sensor itself since you changed it, I'm guessing its the wiring. Rerun the red and white wire to the ecu, it on the D connector. PM me for details and I'll be glad to help. I researched this crap for a month before I finally fixed the problem

I just drove home from work and my car was acting really strange. The car was extremely jerky when I got on the throttle at all. And when I came to a stop, the idle would go up to like 1600 rpm and then drop down and almost die. At one point, the car died and I had to coast it. It wouldn't start for a good minute or two. I also noticed that lately when I shut the car off, I can hear a whistling noise coming from the engine bay but it doesn't sound like my intake.

The ect also gave me weird idle. No matter what I couldn't get it to idle below 1200. Also sounds like your distributor. Have you changed the rotor and cap any time recently? I would say, first fix the ect and most problems will go away. Right now it's hard to distinguish whether they are coming from the ect or dizzy.

Damn dude! If the complete tune-up seems to check out fine i would take a guess on a plugged catalytic coverter. I have run into some Accords at work that have that problem with hard start, pinging, and running like crap. Disconnect the Cat Converter from the car and see how it runs..... I may be way off but worth the try.
