Default o2 sensor help!!!!!!!!!!

whats up all,

1994 acura integra ls

This problem is a killer, my cel will not reset, it keeps throwing a code 1,
i have replaced the o2 sensor twice with and ngk branded one and now with a denso branded one. i have followed all the precedures in my official acura service manual, checked the resistance on the o2 sensor it is well with in spec, checked to see if i have a short in my wiring harness, and i am reading 12.89 volts, to the oxygen sensor, i installed the o2 sensor with the car cold, let the car idle to operating temperature, turned to car off tried to clear the cel code while it was hot. i am completley stumped. the only option the book is giving me now is replace the ecu. is there any way to check the ecu without taking it to the dealer. like i said i have done every thing there is to do in the manual.

thanks,

Mrproul

How are you resetting the ECU? Are you leaving the battery disconnected long enough?

I was told by a shop that after installing a new O2 sensor, it can take the ECU up to 50 miles for the CEL to shut off. I needed the car inspected, so I completely disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and it was still on. Finally, I just drove the car about 30 miles before it shut off.

Are you sure the O2 sensor is correct for your car?

Code 1 indicates a problem in the sensory circuit, not the heater circuit code 41 would indicate a problem in the heater circuit. so check the mV output according to your manual.

yeah to reset the the ECU disconnect one of the battery cables and touch it to the the other terminal (or if that makes you nervous, turn on a light, or try to move a window.) The point is to discharge any voltage left in the system.

On my 99 Integra, I had to replace the number two O2 sensor. After I did that, the light would not clear. I think I put about 150 miles on the car and finally got sick of the light being on so I disconnected the battery for about an hour and that cleared it.
