If B&M doesn't have one, I don't know of any others that do. I'm against short shifters anyway.

You'll have to cut it if you want it shorter. Otherwise you may be SOL.

why are they only made for 90+ years? is it just because they are all B series and the 89 is a D16a1 . willl any other short shifters work for this transmission? like ones for a civic etc?

A lot of parts for the 89 have been discontinued or to some degree are no longer in production. They were around at one time, but now your looking at a 17 yr. old car and the craze for that car is not popping. I am thinking that if you looked into it you could probably find a cross reference on a shifter. Only thing is, I know for a fact that the shifter on an 89 has the linkage bolt secured north to south 90 plus has the shifter bolt secured east to west, so that would be the main difference. When I had my 89 and needed to know of a part in existence or wanted a part I would contact Kenny Fong at Darkside Motoring out of Chatsworth CA. That guys knows how to find shit. You can vist the site at www.darksidemotoring.com
