Default Rusty bolts in engine compartment

I have just purchused a 2001 acura integra with less than 60,000 km on it. The car is in fantastic shape with the exception of the bolt heads in the engine compartment, most of these bolts retain the fender, bumper, grounds and various other things. I find this cosmetically unpleasing, and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on how to deal with it. I thought about taking them out and cleaning the rust off on a wire wheel and then repainting them.

I would think it would be much easier to just replace the bolts than to try to get all the rust off.

They should be pretty cheap but. But im a cheap person I would get sand paper and spray them clear to protect them. BUT That's just if I was gonna even get into this whole thing.

If you want to replace valve cover cap nuts they are not cheap, about $3.5 a pop. Don't ask me how i found that out.

Of course the specialty fasteners are going to be more expensive, but not the typical ones you see everywhere else.
