Well, my car needs a new driver side axle so I'm going to go ahead and replace both. I haven't done this before but I've been searching a few write-ups, installation shouldn't be a problem with the right tools.
My question is...what are some good brands of aftermarket replacement axles? My local auto parts stores are my last resort, I aim for OEM-type quality or better. This car will not see FI or wild NA power anytime soon(just bolt-ons for now), but I want something reliable. ANY links, suggestions and tips for this would be extremely helpful. THANKS!

 

It's a very simple process. Unless you plan on making insane power, theres really no need to upgrade. Aftermarket, Performance axle's are three times the price of OEM. I've seen some cost up to $1000. Just search for OEM.

OEM Honda axles are $600 through the dealership. Has anyone found them cheaper anywhere else? Thanks for the DIY link.

 

just go to your local auto parts store. you can pick one up for under 200. and they are warrentied. works great for me, 94 gsr

I haven't owned a Honda in 1 year. So I'm not sure if this is still true, but AutoZone had this deal where you bought axles from them and they had a lifetime warranty. They were cheap too, refurbished if I recall correctly...

Basically everytime you break them, just bring them back, no question asked, they replace them.

 

Thats exactly what I don't want... for them to break all the time. I'd rather spend a little more for reliablity. Lifetime warranty is great, but if the part is good then it should last long enough where i don't need to replace it every year or so. I'm looking at Raxles.com and http://www.kingproauto.com/

There is only Pep Boys and Autozone around here. They don't have the highest quality parts.

 

they aren't going to break from everyday driving, or taking your car to the track every once in awhile. there still good axles

 

They must be cheaper than $600.... I can't find the website, but mine were $300 for a pair & 2 year warranty. Still working just fine.
