Turbocharging a 3G Teg LS, best kit for my friend?
Has a '99 LS Coupe w/ Auto around 35k, lowered, CAI, system, chromes(light ones, figure that one out)...
Looking for some results for a turbo setup in a 3rd Gen Teg LS? He was looking for some results on turbo kits before he goes out and gets one. He was wondering about the drag kit,Greddy kit,or even the revhard kit, or any other kit that performed well or bad.
He's looking at mainly than anything
around $3,000-3,500 spending range
And as much hp as he can get (I'll help him w/ tuning and stuff for the most possible)
The car is going for show, and wants some for power, plus he likes the sounds coming from the turbo, BOV, etc
Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
Later,
Jay

You'll probably get a better response in the engine tech forum but the greddy and drag 3 are the more popular turbos:
Greddy = carb legal + fast spool = limited power, also you won't be able to intercool it AND keep it carb legal
Drag 3 = lots of power + some crappy parts in the kit you'll have to switch out later (like that tial wastegate? not sure...)
Since the drag 3 isn't carb legal (CA standards?) you can go ahead and stick on a BOV and intercooler and not think twice about it

First off your friend has an automatic integra. This is going to be a problem. Turboing an automatic integra not only yields pathetic gains, you're also going to drop that transmission in little to no time.

Unless your car is a Supra TT or other comparable car that came turbocharged from the factory, an auto-tranny will give you nothing but a headache.
Anyone care to tell me how a BOV works with an automatic transmission car?
