Default Just installed a AEM V2...

And it makes a high pitched whistling noise at low rpms. Is that normal?

Check your hose clamps. Throttle Body, Air Filter, etc.
Did you connect the hose to your valve cover?
Not farmiliar with the AEM CAI, is it a one peice design?

If all is well there, listen under the hood with the engine running & try to figure out the general location of the sound. Other Possibilities: Belts, Tensioner, Intake Manifold Gasket, TB Gasket.

I do not have a V2 but my normal AEM CAI does make a whistling sound.

I checked all of the clamps and the filter today to make sure everything was nice and snug. I suspected it might have been the splash guard with the little slits in it making the noise when the filter sucked in air next to it, so I took that off and it wasn't that either. Oh well.

Does it occur all the time, or just under certain conditions? Thanks for the replies guys.

Is it just your air filter? Did you try and listen closer while the car is running? If it's a loud squeel, its probably something else.

It doesn't do it except for when I'm moving down the road, and it's definitely audible. It has to be the intake because the sound is coming from that side of the car and it wasn't there before I put it on. If it's normal, I guess I won't worry about it, just a little annoying.

Normal. Every intake i've had has done that, including the v2. I could also hear it sucking in air when the engine was idling, which was pretty cool.

All the time, especially at lower RPMs where it is easier to hear. It also whistles when I turn the car off.
