I'm going to replace my timeing belt ( or atleast attempt to do it by myself) Does anyone have a list of stuff that I should replace while I'm at it Thanks in advanced.

 

i just did my timing belt job a few months ago.

here's what i replaced:

(the bolded items are at the least what you should replace while you're in there)
- timing belt
- water pump
- tensioner spring
- a/c, p/s, alternator belts
- left-front engine mount
- camshaft cap
- valve cover seals (valve adjustment as well won't hurt)
- spark plugs
- plug wireset
- pcv valve

a few weeks later i finished that job up by replacing the rotor/distributor cap and fuel filter.

Also, when you get the valve cover, as for the "valve cover kit" ... it contains all the plug tube seals and grommets... all the rubber from the head up.

 

Alright thanks, acuraoemparts.com is the best place to get oem parts from right? And if anyone knows a site for a valve cover kit I don;'t no why but I can't seem to find one?

 

Don't forget the exhaust cam plug. Even if it isn't leaking, I'd replace it.

Wondering if anyone has had difficulty removing the crank pulley bolt or pulley during timing belt replacement, or had to use a special tool to get it off?

I have already found a couple places with hard to remove bolts on my '90LS, and at 130 lf-ft, I am guessing this is the highest torque bolt for any normal maintenance...

 

That would be one of the toughest bolts to get off...

Definitely the OEM belt & tensioner when it comes to the timing belt.
