Default weird vtec

i was wondering if someone can answer something for me. when i start my car up and wait until the temp gauge gets to the first or second mark, then go out onto the road and punch it, my rpm goes up to 4400 and my tires break traction. like it has a whole lot more power. when i let it warm up to temperature, it doesnt do it. anyone know why?

cars run better when the engine is colder, because there is less friction in the engine. when your oil gets hotter ther is more friction

Um, you got that one completely wrong. There is LESS friction when the oil is up to temp. Viscosity DROPS with temp increase. Why would you want more friction while you are driving????

Doesn't the car have to be at temp before VTEC will engage? I know it won't if oil pressure is too low, so maybe when the car is cold, it isn't engaging and you are getting a torque bump from remaining on the low RPM cam lobe when the secondaries open.

i have a blox intake mani, it doesnt have secondaries, and i know that vtec is hitting because it does exactly te same thing when it is fully warmed up. just isnt that extra umph. if i just hop in it when its cold, and take the rpms up to where vtec is i get nothing so i know its warmed up enough to come on

What ECU?

if i just hop in it when its cold, and take the rpms up to where vtec is i get nothing so i know its warmed up enough to come on
Explain that? Is it switching over to the second cam profile when it is cold or not? Secondaries or not, VTEC switchover is still dependant on oil pressure.
