Default suspension....

I'm thinking about going with the H&R OE sport springs because I don't want my car to low because of the roads here but my question is do you think the stock shocks will hold out for now? If they will for about how long?

They'll hold out but the main improvement you'll see in cornering grip will come from upgraded shocks and tires.

thanks for the help I'm going with the KYB GR-2 for shocks now with the H&R OE springs but still have the stock steelies though and will wait till after winter to change them.

Depending on how low you go the stock shocks will blow out within months of driving. It's usually cheaper to switch out the springs + shocks all at once.

Your stock steelies should be pretty lightweight; after winter stick some good rubber on them and you'll be set.

thanks I have decided to go with the KYB GR-2 for the shocks like you said it's easier and cheaper doing it all at once. As for the steelies I have YOKO Avid H4 on them now and I think they are great at least till I get new rims.
