ABS Light is on
my abs light has been on for a long time and it makes a wierd kinda loud vibrateing noise every couple min or hour i sometimes dont realize it cuz i got so used to it. so its hard to say how often, any ideas on what it could be
When I bought my 96 GSR the ABS unit would pump up every 5-10 minutes. The problem was a leaking accumulator (the cylindrical part on the back side of the ABS unit). I was able to buy a small o-ring from Acura and I replaced it. Problem solved. It was not an easy fix as you have to take the entire ABS unit out of the car to get to the bolts on the bottom of the accumulator to get it loose. There is no problem bleeding the unit after it is put back in (bleed the brakes like you normally would). Look for brake fluid under the ABS unit, this will indicate leakage of the unit. If you don't want to mess with it, you can just unplug the ABS unit and the brakes will operate normally, albeit without the ABS. Good luck.
I had my ABS light come on after I changed out my front and rear brake pads, and brake fluid. It would come on after a short period of driving and stay on until I shut the engine off. I just took the car down to the family mechanic, had him erase the ABS error codes it was giving him, and presto! No more ABS light.
