Default clutch trouble????

I was driving home tonite and when I went ot shift the clutch pedal was really really soft and went all the way to the floor before it would allow me to shift gears. When I got home I openeed the hood to see if the clutch resivor was full. It was pretty low, would this cause the soft clutch problem I explained if not any other ideas about the problem would be appriciated.

Thanks Luc

Mine kept getting softer a while ago and i had to keep pressing it farther to the floor. I took it to the mechanic and I needed a new master cylinder, i had about 98000 miles, i dont know if that helps

thanks for the info but I just fixed the problem. It was bothering me so I looked around the house for the brake fluid that lid says to use(DOT3 or 4). Found some added it and pumped it through the system. Works like normal now.

Adding fluid may just fix it for a while. You may need to replace the slave cylinder or the slave cylinder gasket.
