Default Engine is DEAD:(

Well 3 days ago My engine took a turn for the worst and overheated like 4 times and now it's dead. It was a beat up b18a I have another complete head from a 98 ls and a 96 ls Block and I'm putting all the stuff from my old engine that I can use on it. I need to get the piston/rods, clutch/flywheel, and a few other things to put into my other block I have. I stouldn't have any problem putting the b18b block into my car and using the old b18a exhaust manifold should I? I hope not because It's already gonna cost me alot of money that I dont have to put the other engine together....

It should fit.. correct me if im wrong, but I think the paterns are the same. With the car not drivable, why dont you take exhaust manifold off and check? your going to have to at some point anyway... BTW: why did you let it overheat 4 times?? good luck! dont cut corners, you'll find yourself in the same situation again...

I didn't let it overheat on purpose...lol... I had water with me but for some reason there as so much blow bye atleast that's what my friend told me cause of the headgasket that it was putting alot of pressure on the water in the radiatorthat it just kept running out, believe you me if I knew my car wouldn't have made it another 40miles I never would have drove it, to late now...ohwell The engine wasn't in the best condition when I bought the car because the guy who had it before me had a zex kit on it and apperently messed up a few things by using it a few too many times....

I hope you got a killer deal on it! like you said, too late now. I was just curious as it seems you were aware of the cooling problem. Good luck in your rebuild/transplant.
