OBD1 P28.

I foresee your tranny taking a shit in the very near future. If you want it to last, you need to do a manual conversion.

Automatic? BOO! jk no offence but schmoos right. you need to shift manually while haveing a turbo. especially when racing.

Strong automatics, like Supras, are faster on the track than their 6 speed counterparts, but Honda auto trannies suck, so they will fail when any substantial amount of power is thrown at it.

There are aftermarket options to rebuild and strenghten the automatic transmissions, but IMO it's still questionable from a reliability standpoint.

Given that you're paying for a significant amount of labor, I would expect so.

But OTOH, if a person were to pay for a shop to do all the labor on an auto-to-manual conversion, the difference in price is probably minor.

I just wanted to put the option out there in case a manual transmission is a deal-killer for some reason.

I doubt the newer auto trans electronics would get along with an OBD-I engine computer. I'd really like to know what the internal difference is between auto and manual ECUs.

Yeah, I never thought about that.

Here is a thread that explains the internal differences...if you are interested in knowing: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...light=P28+Auto
