Default ac/ lose power

okay when ever i am driveing my car and i turn on the A/C (the green light comes on) the car loses alot of power like say im doing 50mph turn on the A/C the car will like kind of slow down like as if something is pushing it backwards and i have to give it more gas. i dont know why it does this it just does. just feels like i am losing alot of power when using hte A/C.

so do you guys have any ideas

The motor now has to spin the A/C compressor also, so with the additional load, your motor has more to do. Yes, it is normal.

Absolutely and completely normal.

The AC compressor requires a significant amount of horsepower to drive.
Combined with high intake temps, the car will feel more sluggish when compared to a cold winter's morning.

Normal, if I'm not mistaken it takes about 15hp for our motors to turn the a/c compressor clutch. So yea, your Teg might feel as fast as a Civic EX with the a/c on.

Very common w/small displacement motors, thus I never use my AC. In a Vette I wouldn't think tiwce about it.
