Default Integra Engine Swap help

Hey, my name is Jonathan and im 15 ((i kno im still young, but it is good to do a lot of research before u actually get the car)) and doing a lot of thinking about my future car,Do you guys think it would be a good idea if i swap in a K20 ((lets just say ill most likly get a LS teg)), but i heard if i want to do the swap i will have to remove the A/C,which i dont want to do, i want to KEEP IT
and also if thats possible i want to get it turboed. I kno that the K20 has high compression so hopefully i cant buy some pistons and lower the compresssion that way i can maybe add in a HKS turbo ((i kno it seems kinda immature just to add a turbo becuz im still young, its becuz i just want it to probably hit the high 11s in the 1/4 mile)).but if you guys have any tips on my plan it will be surley helpful for my noob self, thanks again

people have done k20 swaps into tegs and still retained ac and ps. what all goes into it im not sure. swapping in a k20 and then turboing it is going to be a whole lot of money. you'd be better off building and boosting a b series, imo.

and next time post in the correct forum

hey man its all good, you havent fully registered the site as to where you should post, first off welcome to han:cheers: a k20 swap can be done and has been done, with a lot a modifaction to your motor bay and body, it will fit nicely, good 6-7k but will work, imo i would find a ls and build up a b-series, for instance i have a 90 ls with a b16a1 good 160 hp not including all the addition parts i have put, but its a start i paid 1500 for the whole swap, easy solution to doing vtec and wont cost you a whole lot, or you could build up the b18 that comes into the ls and do a ls/ convo, better gains and will only set you back like 3k or so parts and everything, you would be set, so i would say start out small and work your way up....other then that enjoy you stay..............

Sounds like it would be a nice swap, if u had plenty of time and money. I got into doing an h22 swap into my integra when I was 16, I'm 17 now, did all the research I could, but it didn't prepare me for doing the actual work, plus I had to do most of the work myself, so in the end it took me many months to complete the swap. If u got plenty of help and the proper tools, then that would be a lot better. I think for the price of a k series right now u should go with either a b or h series engine, build it up, and turbo it, and in the end will be a lot cheaper, a lot less pain, and a alot faster for the same price. Whatever you decide, good luck to ya.

You will change your mind later

I also had many plans like swapping and boosting, then the fact that I need a shit load of money to do it RIGHT hit me :chuckles:

If money is no object, and you want a sleeper go for it. If your not doing the labor and your on a typical High School student income...find yourself a used RSX-S and finance. IMO If the G3 is what you want, and dont want to break the bank.... buy an LS, save than turbo (good learning experience). The other option is a GS-R, there a dime-a-dozen and the whole car will be cheaper than just the K motor. If you want to hit 11's and go for the geezer (be prepared to drop some SERIOUS cash), I personally recomend a 94-95 with a turbo setup/internal build up. The car will be cheap and youll never have to BS with OBD2. Just my 2 cents.
