Overheating problem only on freeways???
They didn't do any further tests, they just said leave it and drive it until it dies, and I agreed. It runs right now, just overheats if driven hard or if the outside temp is high or if the A/C is on. For the price of a motor swap or rebuild, I picked up the DA...
Replacing the head on any car isn't a lot of fun, which is why I'm also not sure if I want to rebuild this motor or pick up a used one. If I tear it apart to do the head, I am going to end up doing a lot of other stuff like pistons, cams, port/polish, etc... which will actually cost me more in the long run... Tempting to drop a SR20DET in there, but everyone is doing that...

I described how my car runs warm when its really hot out to a friend-he said park it until Fall!..
..or, there's always thermagasket
my car is too ratty to build an engine. If I wanted a fancy VTEC car I think I'd get an NSX(note photo)

here's a follow-up to my post. Today I was out driving when it was 95 degrees out. The temp was ok, but I went up this 2 mile hill and the temp went up to 3/4.I stopped and looked at the engine and there was some steam coming out of the overflow tank and a hissing sound. Can this overflow tank thing be bad or is this a symptom of a combustion leak into the coolant causing high coolant pressure? I have the tests scheduled for tuesday(leakdown, combustion test of the coolant and coolant system pressure test)
