For simply bolt-ons, your not changing the car's characteristics enough to where you need a chipped ecu.

Agreed. It won't help you at all.

You need to get an ECU that is compatible with your engine. V-tec, non-v-tec? Auto/manual?

I don't completely agree with the above. I think you will always gain something with tuning. Your engine will run better tuned. Not a huge deal though.

What do you need a fuel pressure regulator for? What other mods are you planning on doing?

this guy at a local shop said that a fuel pressure reg. would add roughly 10-15 hp to the wheels... then not sure about other mods... wanted to do ls/vtec but cant find a head at a decent cost... right now the cel is on cause of my cat and i was just wanted to tune it so that way it wouldnt be on.

If your only mods are an intake/header/catback then a fuel pressure regulator will do absolutely nothing. Your stock system is not lacking in any way for your setup. That guy was full of crap.

A tune will not fix your cel. You might need a new cat.

You can buy 02 simulators you can put on so your car thinks you have a cat. That would solve your problems before a chipped ECU would.
