Default Suspension "Top-hats"

could someone explain the significance of top hats? I first heard of them on the ground control coilover kit. They say you can not use you gsr strut tower bar with "top hats". you would need one that fits around it? Can someone explain please

the top hat is the peice that your shock bolts into, holds your spring, and bolts to the car. GC sells one that is deeper where the shock mounts so it sticks up further allowing for more travel if your car is really lowered. Im not sure exactly when you would need to use them, as most people just re-use the stock ones when lowering there cars. honda's have pretty good suspension travel so this isn't usually a big deal.

Anything more than a 1.5" drop with GC/Konis will require the top hats.

yeah i guess it all depends how stiff your springs are. Ive had mine down about 2" and wasn't on the bumpstops. did you get the GC top hats?

No. My rates are 350f, 450r. The problem is that the springs are too short, so anything lower than 1.5" will bottom out on small bumps.
