I wouldn't go over 11.0:1 or so without a tunable ECU like hondata/etc. I've seen 12:1 run on pump gas with hondata...but a lot of timing was pulled out. I had a friend running 13:1 on the street, and he had to mix 2 gallons of Toluene with each tank of gas...and he was running a J&S Safeguard.

Toluene? Good lord! Don't they use that in TNT? Yes they do, Tri-nitro-toluene

That's the stuff. Raises octane quite well.

Obviously more compression is going to make more power, but 11:1 is a good street compression. The USDM Type R motor has 11:1 compression.

Stroker kits suck and ruin the revvability of the motor. If you want to increase displacement, get your block sleeved and bore to 84-85mm...which will make it about a 2 liter, and you'll keep the revvability.
