Default Need advice on Integra?!

Hey everyone new here by the way although I've had a 92 integra since I was 16 and am now 21. Also have an 03 subaru wrx. Thinking of selling the wrx(so fast...I will miss it) to pocket some cash for college when I transfer to a 4-year.

So I would like to keep my 92 teg. Only 118,000 miles, new timing belt/water pump, ignition coils, complete tune-up, new tires about 6 months ago. But....it was hit in the parking lot pretty good and the rear driver side quarter panel needs replace. Straight body no other damage. But that would cost about $1500 I blieve plus a paint job. And I think my back struts are starting to squeak so there is some more money.

You guys think I should invest the money in the car to fix it up after selling my wrx or look for a little new integra 94-something with decent miles?

Found a 98 4door integra, but it has 104,000 miles. The guy said he bought it from a dealer and only put about 800 miles on it, and now is moving out of state and wants to sell it. He said he has reciepts for new rims, tires, rotors, brakes, intake, lowering springs, camber kit which was all done the first day he bought it (800 miles ago) He is offering it for $6k but said the clutch is pretty worn, and would adjust the price to that. How much is a clutch with install? Does this sound like a good idea?

Sorry for the long post

i would have agree^^^

6k for that car does seem a bit much. i would go ahead and sell both cars and buy a newer one, that's priced a little better. patience does pay off in the end.

I'd pay about 4500 or 5k for that car, especially with the clutch

It all depends on location and demand.

Out here in California, Integras are a dime a dozen, so 6k for a 98 LS? 4 door with 104k miles and a slipping clutch is very overpriced. That should be 4-5k at most out here.

Of course its way cheaper in cali, but here in Washington state that not that bad of a price. Especially since he would adjust the price for the clutch.

So...$5995 - price for new clutch and install + any extra I could hassle him down.

Or I could buy a civic hatchback? found a 95 with only 73,000 original miles, 2 owner 5spd for $4400 or best offer. So I could at least get him down a few hundred bucks. REMEMBER...I'm not in California so honda's aren't a dime a dozen, so thats definately not a ridiculous price.

Opinions

clutch is an easy fix, I got an OEM spec kit for ~$300 then got it installed for $250.

I say go for it, you won't get much for the teg though with that damage. I'd say just fix the teg and keep it if the engine is still running strong. It is lower insurance also

look around i picked up my teg $600 cash from the original owner and only things wrong were that the driver side fender had a huge ass dent and that you had to open the driverside door from the outside and that it needed a new oil pan gasket...look around you will find a deal that says buy me!!!!!
