LS VTEC (not v-tec/vtech) is an LS bottom-end with a VTEC (GSR/Type-R) head. Shmoo is right on... search.

did the search before westcoaststyle replied, haha. are there any advantages to this, or is it just the poor mans vtec? i woulda thought that the ls bottom end would be different/weaker, or is it basically the same as the gsr/type r bottom end? does it just bolt right up and run with the software to go with the new head or is it more complicated.

yeah a b18b is a non vtec engine, he took a vtec head and put it on the b18b, resulting in the lsvtec.
i would check the swap over and over.
definetly get a good test drive in as well!

to be honest.. the lsv is such a difficult and possibly catastrophic build... call him back...ask him for his ENTIRE parts list for that build and bring it back to us. also ask if HE did the work... or if a reputable shop did it.

to be honest... it's a 50/50 your getting a hack job or a beautiful setup.... thats why it's risky to even consider
