Default Putting money into a 96 GSR

I own a 96 GSR and I want to do some upgrades. I really have no idea where to start. Should I put in a cold air intake first or exhaust or what? Any suggestions on what to do first to give me better performance would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I was also wondering if those cold air intakes on ebay for like $16.00 are any good. Thanks.

start off simple, CAI or SRI , stupid bolt ons then do suspension or something, then maybee some engine upgrades.
Read into it so you know what you're doing.

What is better? SRI or CAI? Would a SRI be better instead of worrying about hydrolock with a CAI? What would offer better performance?

well, what your goals
when i first bought my 95GSR i picked up a SRI...short ram intake.
THEN i picked up a CAI...cold air intake...soon after that i bought 4-1 DC headers. and the car was loud, espically in VTEC, and it had some more power too...espically when i put in my S2IM...Skunk2 Intake manifold.

I knew I always wanted turbo but never knew how they worked, after doing a lot of research and what not i found out that my SRI/CAI and DC header could not be used so i pretty much wasted my cash.

Do you wanna stay NA(all motor) or boost the bi*ch. make your mind up now to save on $ later.
also dont do what i did. I bought dropzone coilovers on ebay and slamed the car...riding on 17s with 45series tires and then hitting bumps in the road makes the car feel like its gonna explode. SAVE UP SAVE UP if you wanna do this right. Im about to buy some GCs(ground control coilovers) with Konis Yellows shocks, gonna run me 800 for parts and i install it myself. JUST make up your mind and do research, save up THEN buy stuff.

if you wanna just have a little fun, tear the motor apart a little and get a bit dirty...just buy a SRI...learn as you go

GL-just make sure if you get to this point...you can put it back together

any questions we're here
AND WELCOME

edit:i never had a problem with hydro lock with my CAI...but some say SRI are better because of quicker response. IMO i liked my CAI...but it was to close to my motor mount and it cewed a hole in the piping...go with SRI

i have a a weapon r cai, and i love it had no complaints and i really dont have to worry about hydrolock, being that i live in a desert(utah) and its hot 80% of the time and when it does snow, i can change it to a sri, because it breaks down for shipping purposes, but i can go full cai once it warms up.....but again save up$$$$$$ that way you wont be like "oh, im kinda short..."

the exhaust is quiet as hell. I actually wish it was a little louder. I want something that has more of a low growl.
