Default Integra Horn

When i hit the horn button on my accord it was a rather loud beep. On my integra i hate my horn. I can't even hear it most of the time. It sounds like fricken VW bug or something. Does anyone else have a weak horn on their integra. Is it possible to like retrofit a different style horn like an....accord for example into it. Everything on the circuit checks fine, i just think its a shitty horn.

Well i know its possible, thats not hard wiring a new horn but anyone else have a pretty wussy horn on their teggy?

Mine sucks too. I've been debating on replacing it with something louder, just don't know what. And I've been working on other stuff at the moment. But your not alone on this one.

go to know i'm not the only one. I almost want to get one from the type of accord i had. It was a nice beefy buzzing sounding horn. This one.....i've had to use it twice for dumbass people that want to talk on their phone and not look when changing lanes (which also brings up that my ABS works great on this thing) or blowing through stop signs. And if i have my stock radio loud enough i can't tell if i'm pushing the button right or not.

^ agreed....

to actually answer your question... the horn is one of the simplest components on the car.. it's just a power and a ground. i used to have a mini piezo, tons of people have put in alarm horns, my buddy put in a F-350 horn... its a 10 minute swap

the idea is that when you need to use it people can't hear you... which i true, on the highway i can't even hear my alarm above 40mph

The stock horn is pitiful. IMO, all Japanese cars have very wimpy sounding horns. They sound far too polite for the assholes we have to deal with on the roads every day.

Skip the Accord horns and buy one that sounds stern and imposing.
No, a big-rig air horn won't fit. :chuckles:

I bought a 135 dB Hella horn (I forget the model) from my local independent parts guy about a week after I bought the car. With some 12 gauge wire & terminals from Radio Shack, I reused the stock mounting location and extended the factory wiring to fit the horn terminals. Took about 30 mins start to finish, including time to fabricate a bracket.
