Default hard start in morning

2000 integra ls. when the car sits overnight only and i go to start it in the morning it takes a few cranks before it will turn over. i was thinking fuel pump relay but if anyone has any other ideas they would greatly be appreciated.

another question...i was reading about the timing belt/water pump. i know it says 90k but i didnt see anything about the 6 years that was talked about. my car is only at 61k but it is 6 years old. should i just replace it then?

last ?....i have been in search of a 51r yellow top optima battery but i cannot find one anywhere. anyone know where i can find one?

1) cold start... no big deal... how up to date are you on regular maitenance... HOW cold is "cold" for you... im in socal ... so cold for me is about 60*

2) you should be ok w/ doing them at 90k... my car was 9 years old before i did it, and it still looked brand new when i got the valve cover off... you can consider pulling off the valve cover and taking a look at it to see how badly it needs changing

i live in si new york and even when its not cold in the morning its hard to start. im thinking now it may be the battery. i had the valve cover off not too long ago and it looked ok. im def up to date on regular maintainance. i think i should change my ign coil because i havent changed that with my tune ups. it may be the problem as well.

A visual inspection on the timing belt is not sufficiently reliable IMO.

Since the failure of the timing belt can easily lead to very serious engine damage, I would advocate caution and replace the belt and pump at some point in the next few months. Better to play it safe than to risk disaster.

if it's time to do your timing belt... do it... it's a good idea and it's not as hard as people make it out to be.

also... it could be an ignition/battery problem... so i do suggest you take care of those... cap/rotor/wires/plugs are always a quick simple change and can make a world of difference
