Default DC Headers

Friends say I need to get some headers for my car, so I have done some looking around and I think the DC Sports 4-2-1 Headers would be the best, is there a better kind out for a decent price? Also what are the best types of pulleys for my GSR?

dont waste your money on headerS, one will do.

in general, pullies arent worth the cost/effort in terms of yielding power... but if you must change, unorthodox racing and AEM are good names.

Well, I don't know how much better a Greddy 4-2-1 header flows over a DC, but for the price I paid ($295), stainlees steel is a much better finish than ceramic. I know I'll have this header for a long time, so I spent my money wisely. My top priority was for this part to be CARB-legal.

I'll have a greddy SS 4-2-1 header for sale after the 13th.

Greddy / DC = same in quality / performence.

Why do you need a new header? The only reason I ask is because I wasn't impressed at all by the DC Sport header that I bought for my GSR. I have used DC Sports on my other cars and gained power but on my GSR I noticed little to no difference. I was told that the stock exhaust manifold was really good for the GSR but I switched mine out anyways because it rattled pretty bad. Now I'm looking to get rid of it and go turbo.

4-2-1NOOOOOOOOOO
4-1YESSSSSSSS
better flow, more increase in HP and VTEC is better as well. i know from testing both out. one bad thing about 4-1 is how low it is to the ground. BUT just dont hit anything. GET 4-1 dont waste your $ on 4-2-1. Mine were DC off ebay and i loved them. ceramic>stainless

Who told you this? There is no way that the stock manifold is just as good or better than the DC header. I would venture to say that your stock manifold rattled because the heat shield was loose.

I have the 4-1 header and it helped a lot... especially in the upper rpms needless to say. I can't say that it is much lower if at all as oppossed to the stock set up. I go over speed bumps all of the time and I have never hit anything. I made a mistake in that I got the ceramic coated header. I should have gotten the stainless steel header instead. The "ceramic coating" the DC Sports uses on the mild steel is garbage. The coating is coming off. I am going to put the stock manifold back on and have it re-coated by Lo-Ko Performance Coatings (www.lo-ko.com).

All of these headers for all cars are basically the same design and one header really won't net you that much more power than the other. The main difference is the quality if the header. I looked at a couple different headers before I made my decision and I liked the quaility of the DC Sports header. You get what you pay for. You will pay more for a header that has nice welds on the primary tubes and inside the collector than you would for a header that looks as if it was welded by Stevie Wonder.

And I had removed the heatshield, in fact I removed all of them because the rattle was driving me crazy. Finally I opted for the DC Sport because it was the cheapest and the rattle went away. This topic has been covered numerous times and if you do a search you can find all the info you ever desired.

I read that post... there is no way that the stock GS-R exhaust manifold "flows better than a DC Sports header".
