AT/Drivetrain problems
Hi All,
I have some issues with my 96 integra w/170,000 miles on it. A couple of weeks ago I began to notice some "shutter" at higher speeds(60-80 MPH). I put the car up on jacks and put the thing in drive it makes a grinding sound and shakes a bit, and as it shifts it gets worse. While I don't know much about automatics, but have replaced a clutch on another 96 teg, and have done plenty of work on various cars. One thing I do know is that this is not a wheel/tire/axle problem. So if I had to guess, I don't think it is the transmission but don't know what else it could be, maybe the torque converter? Are there any known problems(solenoids, pumps, etc...) with these cars. My searches have not been successful.
