Yep, i've got the fever for boost now! GS-R with the Full GReddy 18g kit. He just got done building the engine up so he's completely getting rid of the GReddy kit and getting something different. He told me that he would sell me the entire kit minus FMIC for $1500. He said it would be everything that I would need except for a FMIC. He's a hella cool guy and really takes care of his stuff. I'm thinking about grabbin' it up and joining the Schmoo club

What does "everything you need" mean? I am guessing he is throwing in the ghetto blue box or emanage instead of some real engine management. The price seems high, though...especially for a used kit.

Boost is fun, but don't get into something you know nothing about. Like GSSR said, do some research before you decide that this is best for you.

hehe i got the bug a long time ago and it's hard not to go start burnin some plastic. But honestly READ READ READ about turbos/boost how they work, what they do, what the codes that define them mean, etc etc.

Homemadeturbo.com
c-speedracing.com
howstuffworks.com

all very good sites, as well as the search button around here... trust me, you'll gain a plethora of knowlege and probably decide on a higher end kit in the end

Thanks for the input guys. I've always wanted to boost the teg but I am a little scared of buying a new engine. I have turbo before, but it was on cars that came with a turbo. Totally different. I'll def to my research and it's nice to know that this isn't the best deal. I thought it was sounding pretty good. I'll do some heavy shopping. He's had the kit for about 8 months. He told me it would have everything that I needed except for the FMIC but you guys are right, he's gotta be keeping some stuff for his new setup. Once again, glad I posted on HAN

Turbos = pure sex

My best time with a stock engine, the Greddy 18G turbo, ACT HDSS clutch, and tuned Uberdata (231whp, 181 torque, mustang dyno) was a 13.5 @ 103mph. The greddy is a nice kit. I'm glad I went with it for my first turbo kit, but will def go much bigger next time. And there is no way he is giving you "everything you need." You still need a heavy duty clutch to handle the extra power, you'll need to tap your oil pan for the oil return line, gauges, fuel pump, and other small things. When all was said and done on turboing my integra last summer, the cost was $4k. I would do it all over in a heart beat too

Just make sure you do your research before you buy. Turbos are a lot of fun, but just make sure you "do it right the first time."
