Default Electrical issues

I am having problems with the electrical of my integra 96 SE. Last night I turned my lights on to drive home after work and I noticed my dash board light wouldn't turn on at all. I could not see the speedometer or lights on any of the instruments. The first thing on mind was to check the fuse box and I did find a burned out fuse. I changed it and right after I turned on the lights, the fuse blew up again. What do you think I could do to fix this problem? Thanks ahead!

are you replacing it with the right amped fuse?
do you have anything else tapping into your fuse box?
any additional things running on the same power line?

it seems rare that it would just continuously blow up on it's own unless that fuse was getting more power than it's supposed to...

:rick: or you can just be like me and put a bigger fuse in there :rick:

You have a short in the lighting circuit in your dash. Have you had an aftermarket radio installed lately or some kind of electronic equipment installed lately. I would not install a higher amp fuse...you run the risk starting a fire.

i actually did do that, but only 5A higher... and only b/c i was running about 6 things out of the same fuse and it kept blowing thinking it was all going to my stereo.

stereo = easiest place to tap

I see. Since there are tolorances, a +5 amp increase does not hurt. I hear ya on the stereo being the easiest place to tap. Another place you can tap for power is one of the 3 spade terminals on the interior fuse panel(seen this mostly on newer honda/acuras). One terminal only gets 12v when the igntion gets turned on so you have to test, but its a good place to tap Just need to add your own fuse to it and your good to go.
