I decided to put NGK coppers in my GSR. NGK BKR6E was recommended by dubster99 but I couldn't find it anywhere on the web. What is the year and model of the vehicle that uses this type of plug? Would the NGK copper for a 94 LS(NGK ZFR5F-11)
be OK?

You should be able to find them at Kragen or something of the sort. I run the bkr7e, one step colder than stock, I get mine through a friend at a shop.

 

I am running the NGK ZFR 6F11's, they are a bit longer than the stock plugs. BY this I mean that they protrude abit more into the combustion area. I have heard some express concernabout the electrode contacting the piston, but I have gone through 3 sets of them with no trouble. I do wring it out from time to time, so you can wind it to the redline. Run stock gap, they come out the perfect color gray when they are used. Fuel economy improved about 1-2 mpg on highway, and it does seem like it pulled a bit harder with Cu over Pt.

BTW, they are the same plugs my buddies non vtec prelude used, it was a 94 or so.

 

Tobra, what gap do you run in your GSR with those ZFR6F-11? I put it in and gapped it 0.052(spec for NGK platinum) but noticed a thumping noise and decreased performance. Should I gap it to 0.044, the spec for non-tec Integra, as ZFR6F-11 are actually intended for? Thanx.

He said he runs stock gap which is 1.0 - 1.1 mm.

 

Youre going to need to tell the guy @ Pep Boys to cross-reference that with the part #. The part #'s are different. Or you can go behind and just look yourself for the BKR6E's if they let you.

 

They are the same plug that my buddy's '94 non-VTEC Prelude(R.I.P.) ran, until his radiator failed and his head warped:angry: I have no idea what else they run in, oops, I already said all that except the cracked head thing, sorry:jlammy:
