Default Speedometer stopped working

I have a 98 GS and the speedometer stopped working, the drive light started flashing, and the check engine light came on- any ideas as to how to remedy the problem? Thank you for your help.

Or pull the CEL code yourself.

Click on the "Integra FAQ Thread" link in my sig.. then scroll down to the CEL code retrieval post. Follow those instructions, record the code (or codes) belched out by the ECU, look them up in the table and come back here.

A flashing drive light on a automatic transmission means that the computer for the auto transmission has detected a fault in its system. I would take a guess and say its the vehicle speed sensor but you need to get the ecu scanned for the engine code and go from there.

Keep in mind, it could also be a wiring issue.

When i swapped my clutch out, I forgot to plug my speed sensor back in, and I didn't get a CEL or Drive light..

Just tossing in my .02 that something else may not be out of the question, though that'd be the first thing I checked as well...

best of luck, keep us updated.

Its cuz that car has a manual transmission and there is no computer controlling it. The A/T computer uses the vehicle speed to know when to shift.
