Default Is this a bad thing? I think it is...

So, I was having some misfire issues this week after I put a new set of spark plugs in this weekend, so I took them out to regap them and look what I found:

The conductor has two fractures running all the way through it. What caused this on a new plug?

Just cylinder 1. They are BKR7ES-11 plugs. One heat range colder copper plugs.

It is a $2 spark plug, I am over it. I just can't figure out if it was manufacturing error or my error. I guess time will tell.

That is what I am thinking. My AFR's have gone berserk this week for some odd reason and I can't figure it out, so I assume I was running a little lean and the heat caused it to crack. I'll check them after I dyno on Saturday and see if it happens again.

Id put another one in and see if it does it again. How long were they in there for? If it does it again it may be cylinder 1's wire that could be causing it

They were in since Sunday. If it happens again, I will be very concerned. I have an extra set of wires too, so that would be the first thing I would do after it is retuned.

If there is something wrong with your car that your cannot quite figure out internally it is going be taken out on the plugs when the cylinders fire. Was the car backfiring along with the misfire or just a misfire? Did you get on the car while it was still cold? You can crack a head doing that, maybe a spark plug too? I don't know...
