Also you could try changing your oil pressure sending unit located beside the oil filter the wire could be a little loose if so that would trigger the light if it is just barely snaped on it could trigger when you hit bumps or accelerate??

Check the oil pressure, simple as that. If the oil pressure is within spec, replace the engine oil pressure switch and recheck. If it's not within spec, inspect the oil pump.

10 psi minimum at idle
50 psi minimum at 3,000 rpm

Were you driving the car pretty hard that day. I can get the oil light to come on by taking a corner to fast.

A common mis conception is that the oil light comes on when you are low on oil. Maybe on some cars but not all. I would have it tested, caus obviosly something caused it to come on. Maybe a blurp, but who knows...

Might wanna have your oil pump checked out, typically it's located in the oil pan opposite the pan base.

Default I have the same problem too, but.....

My oil pressure light starts blinking at highway speeds. Once I switch off the engine and on and drive local roads the doesnt blink. Anyone thinks its because of a loose oil pressure sending unit?

Well I wouldn't be driving the car if a flashing oil light comes on. You could possibly damage the engine. I said it before and I'll say it again, get your oil pressure checked.

Thanks for the reply. But why does the light blink only at high speeds?
