Default b18a problems

okay guys i need some help here.i just replace the head gasket on my b18a1 due to radiator overheating.instead of putting the original head on, i put on the one thats mild ported.after it was done the car starts and idle fines at 1000 rpm but when it starts to get warn the rpm goes up.you can hear the valves making noises.i'm thinking the head might not be ported evenly but not sure.any ideas what it might be?

Who did you buy it from? Did they explain exactly what they did, and tell you where it was done at?

first check ur fast idel thermo valve then get a valve adjustment and see where u end up...

Next time I'd do more research on the part before I just slap it on

^ absolutely agreed... for $30 i would have had my mech at least take a look at it and do valve adjusts just to be safe.. hopefully it's nothing serious but driverman5777 is right... u should have been more careful about slapping parts on especially when your not sure what has been done to them or how reputable the work was....
