Hello here is problem this happened about a month ago ..... Car would go and overheat and the heat would stop working then it would stop and work normal well come yesterday car is back to opver heating and no heat what so ever but then last nite when i went to the store the car would idle higher and then act like it would shut off please help asap the car is 92 acura integra ls 1.7 I miss driving my baby!!!

 

No heat typically means no coolant in system. Take cap off when cold and see if there is any left. Unfortunately, the overheat to cool on the gauge usually happens with a blown head gasket.

 

Woul;d that cause the car to idle to go up and down all time even when driving

I would do it for a hell of alot less than 600 the first step is to have ur problem diagnossed however and then fixing it.

well last problem was distributor now i am having this new problem i dont wanna change the head gasket if it aint that especially the reason i dont think its head gasket is ....its idling up and down at parrk neutral and when i drive its like theres a monster in my car lol its idles between 1 and 2 up and down between there i dont wanna drive the car too far and come accross more problems and shops want at least 70 bux to diagnose it thats why i came here lol to ask u men

 

ok so is ur rad working ok? Hows ur thermo, how hard are u running the car? and do u see any smoke out of ur tail pipe?

 

yes radiator works no smoke when its warm...like i said at beginning car is over heating and i have no heat at all and it got the idle too so wonder if it might be timing belt ugh hope and pray not

 

and driving car hard i do at times when im pissed especially when a pig gives me a ticket
