Default ECU Help

I have an 1990 Integra LS. I bought a head with the following numbers: Pr3-3 And a date stamp that read: 9|9 0|4 0|1 9|0. I have been told that it is a 1999 civic Si head or a Type R head. I need to know what is the next step for the ECU part of the swap. I already have the cams, Springs, Retainers, Valves, and Valve cover. I would like to go with the Hondata s300 but I need to know if I need to get a new ECU or if my existing one could be programmed.

If it was red it is that of a type R. Are you doing a LS/Vtec?

Yes I am doing the ls\vtec swap. The Valve cover is a Bright blue color. I tried to scrape the paint off but the original paint was removed.

There is no intake manifold. It is just the head.

The head is either Type R or B16, but whatever it is, it is trivial at this point. You will need a new ECU since your current one doesn't have vtec support. A P28 chipped with Hondata will work for your setup.

www.phearable.net

they sell chipped ECUs with basemaps and the works, and they are already tuned to a setup that will be similar to yours. this way when you go to get it tuned, it will be MUCH easier to tune it, and if you decide not to get it tuned (which i strongly suggest you do, but not everyone does) it makes it alot more safe to drive with less worry.

go to that site, and contact them, explain your situation, and they'll tell you EVERYTHING you need to know and get you hooked up with a p28.
