Default weirdness...

While I was driving all of a sudden I realize that my brake lights were staying on. I have a 1990 3 door LS. I turned the car off and they continued to stay on. I unplugged the battery and they shut off. I went down to the fuse box and removed the ciggarette lighter fuse to check it out. Immediately the brake lights shut off. Now when i hit my brakes, the cigarrete lighter works ( my radar detector shuts on and off and i hit and release my brakes) The clock shuts off, the defrost doesnt work, the cig lighter dont work. when i hit my brakes they all work. What do I do man?

Are your parking lights on when this happens? When the car is off, does this still happen? On your brake pedal, there is a switch that activates the brakes. Its a pin switch. Check it to see if its properly working. There is something shorting into the brake light circuit.

agreed, im assuming it's something that's gone wrong with your switch... and just out of curiousity... was there ever an alarm installation on your car... and is it an auto or mani?
