Default Range for autometer oil temperature sensor gauge

I'm planning on boosting the LS. What range is recommended for an oil temperature gauge? I have no idea what the oil temperature can reach.

I was also planning on going with a Moroso oil pan which includes two 1/2 NPT bungs for plumbing turbo oil return line and oil temperature sender. Does anyone foresee fitment problems?

Here are the short sweep electric oil temperature gauges I'm planning on going with.

Notes:
Includes 1/8" NPT Sender.
Air-Core meter movement.
Includes 3/8"" NPT adapter/fitting.
Includes 1/2"" NPT adapter/fitting.
If mounting in a steel pan, model 2260 bung in the Accessories Section is recommended.

Get the higher of the two. Mine can get up to 240 degrees on hot days, so it would be good to have a little more room.

If your purpose is to get the moroso pan just for the threaded bungs, look into a sandwich adapter first. I got mine for $50 and it works very well.

Thanks for the reply! :goodjob:

How do you have your gauges and lines set up? Did you tap your stock oil pan for the return line? Forgive me if I'm wrong, does your oil temperature gauge and oil feed run off this sandwich adapter. I don't know much about this adapter.

Ok good, I needed some feedback on the appearance of the Z series gauges as well. I'm off to summitracing.com where I shall order one 140-300 oil temp. autometer gauge. Thanks fellas!

I used to have them teed off at the back of the block where the oil pressure sender goes, but I was scared it would snap off inside the block, so I got a sandwich adapter. It has 3 ports, I believe, and I have my oil temp gauge and oil feed line running from it.

Greddy and Golden Eagle both make them, but I went with the Greddy because it is like half the price.
