They're just B16's with a slightly different rotating assembly and cam grind, they all have a standard PR3 "B16" head.

yeah. i wasnt sure if it was a b18a with longer rods and a shorter stroke or a storked b16.

this would then of course mean that it sits lower int eh engine bay than a b18 and he would not be able to use the rs/ls/gs parts he's looking at?

The B18A had a taller deck then the B16-based B17A block, so clearance issues are no problem. The B18* parts strech at least 10mm lower to clear the taller block.

I can't remember if the G2 GS-R shared exhaust components with other 92/93 models in regard to downpipe/cat/B-pipe lengths.

rascal, that car is such a score! i still see those floating around for sale every now and then. in the bay area, they're not that hard to find. finding a clean, unmolested one on the other hand, now THAT is a project! you know i've heard those things are faster than the G3 gsr? i would be stoked to own one of those, although i'm sure it wouldn't last 10 minutes in downtown oakland or san francisco.

they are quicker than the g3 with the right driver

edit:
there were appx. 4000 of them made, but just like it seems about everything else they seem to move westward into cali. i dont know how if the distribution is setup correctly this happens, but it always does. (on autotrader right now there are only 8 of these cars, i'm betting 7 are ripped to shit)

my advice would be to make sure it lasts, keep it clean and keep it covered, keep it safe, and keep up on the matinance.
