GSR engine temp
Hey im a newbie here.
Im wondering where my factory temp gauge should be, before my fan is supposed to kick on. Mine climbs half way, and it sure seems hot.

The instrument panel gauge is little more a three-position sensor; don't get worried about small fluctuations. The movement of the needle is not proportional to the actual coolant temperature.
The gauge will tell you one of three things about coolant temp, either it's "cold" "normal" or it's time to "Shut It OFF!" :run:
If you've got an OBD port scanner, you can read the actual coolant temp sensor input.
The radiator fan thermo switch ought to trip at about 205°F, normal operating temp ranges from about 180°F to 205°F -- the latter being in very high heat and humidity.
