hello. tonight as I pulled into my garage and parked, it seemed as if I shifted very easily into park and when I turned my key off I began to roll forward. I hit the brake and started up again. and I shifted very easily into reverse to find that I still rolled forward, as with neutral, park, everything. Now when I turn my car off in park, it rolls backwards, because of the slope it's on, and that is the only way I can "reverse". Now I am parked on some flat ground and trapt. So basically, when I turn my car on it revs up and pulls forward when it is in park, no reverse, just continues to pull forward at all times. it is an automatic transmission, and this is the first time I have ever had a crazy problem like this. I have my e brake on now to keep my car in place. any ideas on what could be the problem with it before I take it in to the shop?

 

Have you checked the cable, maybe it broke or slipped. How's the fluid? Any burnt smell to it, is it red, when the last time it was changed?
