Sorry to hear about your car and its early demise.

...I have narrowed my header choices to either the Comptech 4-2-1 1-piece or the JG Edelbrock ProFlo 2-piece.
Of these two which has better fit/finish and better hp/torque gains?
Comptech claims a 12hp gain when combined with their cat-back system (so I would guess around 7-8hp gain with stock system).
Edelbrock claims a 6whp gain when used with the stock exhaust (with around 15% loss at the flywheel that would be around 7 horses gained at the flywheel).
So, unless someone can convince me it’s a bad idea I will probably get the Edelbrock 2-piece with brushed s/s finish. It’s about $100 less (including replacement gaskets & bolts) than the Comptech polished s/s and appears to be very close in performance and quality.

Thanks,
John

headers arent worth it. spend the money on driving classes.

1less chance your wreck the damnedthing
2it will give you better times, increase yoru driving ability, and be applicable to all cars you ever drive

I need to replace the stock header system because it has rusted through right in front of the cat. The dealer wanted $400 to replace the bottom pipe so I am going to replace with whole new header myself and go with something better than the stock piece.
So, any real difference between the Comptech and Edelbrock?

the price....and in the end...they are so close in comparison that there is no point going with one over the other... but personally i still would choose comptech
