Default howdy!

n00b here! just thought i'd drop in to say hello. by brother just picked up a 93 LS integra (B181A?) and he's starting to look at some tuning options.

i see a lot of people jumping right into the turbos. aside from the other BPUs, am i correct to assume exhaust is the best place to start?

he's looking at suspension right now as the struts on there are toast (original OE i think) he's pricing out the OEM struts, but he's also priced out the koni yellows and some coilovers. any tips there?

thanks folks. great board you got here. if you're interested, come see me at home at www.clubwrx.net.

:wavey:

Koni Yellows are the stuff. Coilover wise he should probably look at Ground Control. Lots of SCCA championships have been won with that combo, and it isn't very expensive either.

Mod wise... he should really decide if he is going to go forced induction or not, because if he ends up picking up a 60mm catback exhaust, that's not going to flow enough for a turbo.

Sounds like he's got the right idea so far. Turbo, exhaust and koni yellows/coilovers. Wish I had money.

fix the uspension if it is bad. Go for yellow konigs instead of oem. Next mods depend on if he is going the turbo route. If so then make sure they are the right setup for the turbo.

we talked on sunday. the turbo route is almost totally defunct. he interested in getting the easy cheap HP, and still retaining a lot of the longevity of the engine (only ~70Kmi)

so we;re looking at the suspension first. thanks for all the tips. i ran some searches on headers and exhaust. great info here, but one question remains: the acura muffler has a nice tone, what can you expect as far as sound and performance gains with just headers and a downpipe, and leaving hte axleback?

any louder or gutsier? i can't imagine the backbox would be a huge flow restriction, so am i right to assume only minimal HP would be lost if all else is replaced?

also, i see rota wheels are all the craze over here. they're blowing up the spot over at clubwrx.net also. nice and strong, lightweight, and some great looking models. only thing is, all my sources only have 5x100 bolt patterns. any links for the 4X100?

thanks again folks.

Hello there,

Just a suggestion here, go over to www.g2ic.com and run a search on what you need as they catter to the 90-93 tegs. A whole lot of info to be found there.

You will see minimal gains with stock axleback, but there will be some gains, especially low end. I'd recommend a Comptech exhaust or the like. There's some pretty quiet ones out there.

Rotas can be found absolutely anywhere in 4x100. Check www.groupbuycenter.com
