i did a search and it doesnt really answer my question... since dude put in new rods and pistons i should be able to rev to gsr redline right? i just want to know how different or similer it would be to the gsr that i had.

LS vtec depends on who tuned it, if he has pistons and rods put in who knows, he could be running a 13:1 comp ratio and you'll have to drive to your local track everytime you need to gas up. but then again it might be making over 230 horse

agreed with...everyone, LS/V is such a difficult build, it's crazy to think that he bid on this, i suggest if he gets outbid....let em take it, or withdrawl his bid....without knowing the EXACT details on this car and who it was tuned by, how much etc, it could just be setting him up for A LOT of problems

oh and to answer your original question, ls-vtec is just an LS block with a vtec head, giving the non-vtec ls....vtec....hence the name "ls-vtec" but it's got a lot more stuff to do than just that...
