Default Need some help setting timing....

Ive got a really old timing light. It works but its atleast 30 years old.

I read the HELMS and c-speeds how-to.So I know the process.

When I point the timing light to the crank pulley I can see the white mark all the way to the right.I can see the RED mark and a little white spec next to it.I cant make out the green.Ive basically got my face down down there and I just cant see it.

I thought I saw it and lined up the pointer a little to the right of the red mark. But my paranoid ass wants it to be perfect.

Should I set it on the red mark or 2 centimeters to right or what?

Thanks in advance

Did you just change your timing belt? It will never be exactly lined up just so you know. Do you have a gsr or ls?

There should be three marks that you are trying to get the light inside of. You don't have to be perfect, but it should line up between the two outer lines.
