I'm stilll having problem with idle
Acura integra 1991 gs
I'm stilll having problem with idles. i clean IACV. tried 3 fitv's, New gaskets for TB. even new Thermostat. adjusted the throttle cable. Checks for leaks. And still my idles sucks.
CAR WHEN COLD
I turn on my car and 1 of 2 things happen.
1. the idles go slighty above 1k for the warming of part OR
2. The idle go right to 1k and then start go down and popping back up (car can sometimes die on me)
CAR WITH WARM
If #1 happens from the list abov...then after my car gets warm it starts to do down and popping up again BUT! if i give it some gas like 5 times if will idle fine.....If that doesn't work then i will turn drive and then the idle will be normal.
Sometimes lets say everything went fine and my car warm up good and idle fine...after lets say about 3 miles of driving the idle will begin to stay at 2k.
So i found i hard to try to adjust anything but then something else gooes wrong.
PS. before i changed the thermostat car took about 10 to 15 mintutes to harm up ( maybe but of my idle problem)
After i change thermostat it harms of a Little fater but sometime it will take about 10 min. like a said maybe because of my idles problem.

Yeah ive been looking through the forum for a while but decided to register today. Ive had a TPS switch go bad before so I am familiar with Columbians problem. The only other thing I think it might be is the O2 sensor but that will give you a "check engine light" normally. I would start by checking the voltage of the TPS switch. I think the car manual will give you a nominal value to go by.
I checked the 94-01 manual and it says the voltage should be 5 volts nominal and the the rise on the other wires should be .5 to start and rise smoothly by .5 volts to 4.5 volts through the rpm range.
I hope this helps out
